Australian based Africa United Rugby League formed in 2012 to give young African people the opportunity to represent their heritage playing in NRL and NSWRL junior harmony events and in 2016 took appropriate steps to become a Regional Club this has been very successful and opportunities have been provided to boys girls and men to play rugby league for their African Heritage.

Most recently the senior team competed in the Emerging Nations World Championships and had 11 different African Nations represented on the field.

2019 will see Africa United compete at the Cabramatta international 9’s tournament in Sydney February 2 and will also enter a Sudanese team in the same tournament.

Africa United will also take steps to assist Nigeria Rugby League MMXVIII in the quest for Australian based Nigerian Heritage players who may be talented enough to go on and represent Nigeria’s National team by playing for Africa United as a pathway to Nigerian representative League.
Africa United has already provide players to international level with 3 players recently representing South Africa in 2 international games in Australia.
Hopefully the joint effort from Nigeria Rugby League MMXVIII and Africa United Rugby League can provide the pathway and unearth some exciting Rugby League talent.
