April 12, 20190

Nigeria have joined Burundi, South Africa, and Lebanon in putting in a bid to host the 2020 Middle East and Africa Championship (MEA)

Nigeria Rugby League Association Chairman   Abiodun Olwale-Cole had this to say:

“Whilst our focus is on hosting an MEA (Middle East Africa) Championship in Lagos later in 2019, we remain committed to the long term growth of Rugby League in Africa hence the NRLA would like to submit our interest in potentially hosting a World Class event like the MEA event again in 2020”

The decision on hosting will be taken on the 30 September 2019 by the Rugby League Europe Federation (RLEF ) Board.
